Renewable energy sources are also defined as energies obtained from natural sources and with sustainability. These resources in general; Sources such as solar energy, wind energy, hydropower, geothermal energy, biomass energy, energy obtained from sea and ocean waves, hydrogen energy can be given as examples. The most important features of renewable energy sources are that they do not harm human health and nature. There are also different big projects around the world in order to popularize renewable energy sources. Among the reasons for the emergence of these projects is the decrease in fossils day by day and the threat of fossil fuels to nature. For these reasons, the importance of renewable energy sources continues to reach a higher level day by day, as they are sustainable, provide low cost opportunities and protect the world. Especially the geological and rugged geographical structure of Turkey provides a great advantage for producing renewable energy resources. Within the scope of renewable energy in Turkey, electrical energy is produced by pumping methane gas accumulated in garbage by some municipalities to power generation facilities through pipes. Studies on this subject started in 1957 and gained momentum with the initiatives made as a result of the establishment of garbage thermal power plants. Rooted companies, which emerged as a result of the dream of leaving a healthy world to future generations and the belief in sustainable energy, continue to serve in Turkey. The use of environmentally friendly renewable resources brings the following benefits. It is an energy source that can be replaced in a short time. They provide energy production in a short time. They do not cause pollution, they are cleaner sources compared to other fuels. It is an alternative and inexhaustible source of energy because it naturally exists. Maintenance requirements are low compared to other sources. Thus, they save time and cost.
